Why are coats on concrete needed?

Concrete erodes (sand or cement are rinsed out from mortar) which leads to damage of surface. This effect is very dangerous in winter, when water penetrates concrete pores, freezes and bursts concrete, weakening the whole element. Polyurethane coat helps to prevent this effect and additionally protects the surface against algae and microorganisms.
